Recap: Foster Bulldogs vs. Sammamish RedHawks
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Foster Bulldogs can now relate to. They lost to the RedHawks on the road by a decisive 55-38 margin on Friday. Foster has struggled against Sammamish recently, as their matchup on Friday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Foster still got an impressive performance from Ariyana Deloney, who almost dropped a double-double on 25 points and nine rebounds. That was a full 65.8% of Foster's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Mele Fataua was another key contributor, scoring three points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Sammamish's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sophia Eastman, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Eastman has scored at least a third of Sammamish's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Raya Hildebrand, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Foster's defeat dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Sammamish, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 14-6.
Foster does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Sammamish also has no future games currently scheduled.
