Preview: Pike Valley Panthers vs. Stockton Tigers
The Pike Valley Panthers will head out on the road to square off against the Stockton Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Pike Valley is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
A well-balanced attack led Pike Valley over Miltonvale in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Pike Valley beat Miltonvale by the very same score they won with last week: 46-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Pike Valley has posted yet this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pike Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Breanna Reeves, who scored 19 points along with four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Reeves has scored at least a third of Pike Valley's points. Raelyn Bolte was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with seven rebounds.
Stockton has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 48-35 to Northern Valley on Tuesday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Stockton came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 119th, while Northern Valley is ranked 307th).
Pike Valley is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 5-5 record this season. As for Stockton, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-2.
