Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for East Columbus

East Columbus waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the South Columbus Stallions 11-0. The Gators might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.

Aleigh Godwin was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Sadee Brown also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

East Columbus was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in five consecutive contests.

East Columbus' record now sits at 10-2. As for South Columbus, they dropped their record down to 3-5 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. East Columbus will square off against rival Whiteville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, South Columbus is set to challenge their familiar foe West Columbus at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
