Basketball Recap: Fairview Skates Past Gateway with Ease

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Fairview's strategy against Gateway on Monday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Fairview Knights blew the Gateway Olympians out of the water with a 67-34 final score. The match was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Knights had established a 26 point advantage.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fairview to victory, but perhaps none more so than Trevor Ochs, who went 5 of 12 en route to 13 points and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Spencer Brown, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 20 points.

Gateway's loss came despite strong showings from Seven Carter and Bryan Lozano. Carter posted eight points and three steals, while Lozano went 6 of 13 on his way to 15 points and five steals. Those 15 points gave Lozano a new career-high.

The victory made it two in a row for Fairview and bumps their season record up to 2-0. As for Gateway, they now have a losing record at 1-2.

Fairview wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 53-40 win against Prairie View on the 11th. As for Gateway, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 80-47 defeat against Ponderosa on the 11th.
