Baseball Recap: Atmore Christian Comes Up Short

Atmore Christian extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 25 on Monday, dropping their season record down to 0-13 in the process. They came up short against the Pensacola Christian Academy Warriors, falling 20-7. If the Rams were looking for revenge after losing 18-1 to the Warriors when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Tyson Kennell was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs and two doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Warren, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

As for Pensacola Christian Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-8. With that win, they brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.

On Pensacola Christian Academy's side, Micah Gettle was a standout: he got on base in three of his six plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Gettle has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Isaac Fulfer, who earned two RBI, two runs, and two stolen bases.

Coincidentally, Atmore Christian and Pensacola Christian Academy will both be playing Aletheia Christian Academy the next time they take the field. The Warriors will host the Lions at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Rams will host them at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
