Recap: Pine View Panthers vs. Crimson Cliffs Mustangs

The Pine View Panthers were the 60-57 winner over the Crimson Cliffs Mustangs when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Pine View was just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 65-64 to Crimson Cliffs. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nash Schroeder, who scored 18 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Griffen Shepherd, who scored 17 points.

Sean Felts was his usual excellent self, scoring 35 points along with seven rebounds and six blocks for Crimson Cliffs. Felts hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of McKay Lindquist, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and five assists.

Pine View's defeat dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Crimson Cliffs, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pine View's road trip will continue as they head out to face Hurricane at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th. Hopefully Hurricane focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Friday. As for Crimson Cliffs, they will head out on the road to challenge Dixie at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
