While Monticello's victory against Hamburg wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Billies had just enough and edged out the Lions 3-2 on Tuesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Billies as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Blaine Hayden, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Monticello's victory bumped their record up to 10-12. As for Hamburg, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Monticello will face off against rival Watson Chapel at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Hamburg is set to take on their familiar foe Crossett at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
