Football Recap: Wheatley Comes Up Short

Wheatley was the 39-27 winner over North Forest when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Wildcats lost to the Bulldogs on the road by a 32-14 margin on Friday. The Wildcats just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row dating back to last season.

Lashun Gray had an outrageously good game for North Forest as he rushed for 157 yards and three scores while picking up 8.7 yards per carry, and also threw for 103 yards on five of 17 attempts. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Gray a new career-high. Ezekiel Hadley was in the mix too, providing North Forest with one TD.

Wheatley's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for North Forest, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Wheatley is set to take on their familiar foe Yates at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, North Forest will challenge rival Worthing at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
