Recap: Brookfield Central Lancers vs. Hamilton Chargers
The Brookfield Central Lancers's game on Friday was all tied up 35-35 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They lost to Hamilton on the road by a decisive 78-63 margin. Even though they lost, Brookfield Central's still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 50.7 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Brookfield Central's loss came despite strong showings from Josie Piurkowski and Dylan Romero. Piurkowski scored 19 points along with eight rebounds, while Romero scored 18 points along with eight rebounds. The game was Piurkowski's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Witon, who scored nine points.
Brookfield Central are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6. As for Hamilton, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brookfield Central will be home for the holidays to greet Brookfield East at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Brookfield East is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Hamilton, they will play host again and welcome Nicolet, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
