Softball Game Preview: Louise Hornets vs. Schulenburg Shorthorns

Louise is on a nine-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Schulenburg a five-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Tuesday. The Louise Hornets will welcome the Schulenburg Shorthorns at 6:00 p.m. Louise has given up an average of 16.8 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Louise is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 21 runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Moulton on Friday. They came up short against the Bobkatz, falling 16-1.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Schulenburg). They blew past Bloomington 17-2 on Friday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Shorthorns as it put an end to their eight-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Summer Livingston, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Perla Martinez, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Louise's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Schulenburg, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 2-13-1.
