Basketball Game Preview: Southern Alamance Patriots vs. Williams Bulldogs

Southern Alamance is 2-8 against Williams since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Southern Alamance Patriots will host the Williams Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

On Monday, Southern Alamance needed a bit of extra time to put away NCSSM: Durham. They escaped with a win against the Unicorns by the margin of a single free throw, 67-66. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Patriots as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Williams ended up a good deal behind Voyager Academy on Monday and lost 82-65. While the Bulldogs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Vikings 20-14 in the first quarter.

Southern Alamance will have to contain Colby Elliot as he made an impact in Williams' last game. He posted 23 points. That was a full 35.4% of Williams' points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaeden Smith, who put up 12 points.

Williams now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Southern Alamance, their win ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-12.
