Nucla had to settle for second on Saturday, but Jake Hulst sure wasn't going down easily. Despite the defeat, Hulst was still locked in as he struck out eight batters over 5.2 innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off only two hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024.

Even though Hulst couldn't lead Nucla over Rangely, he won't have to wait long to try again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams are at an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2018, but likely not for long.
