Softball Recap: Westerville Central's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Westerville Central can now relate to. They fell 6-1 to the Watkins Memorial Warriors on Friday. The Warhawks were red-hot at the plate heading into the match (they scored no less than ten runs in the four games prior), but the Warriors' pitchers proved too tough.

With the defeat, Westerville Central broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-7. As for Watkins Memorial, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season.

Westerville Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Watkins Memorial, they will challenge Mt. Vernon at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Yellowjackets will roll in looking for their 19th straight victory, something the Warriors surely won't give up without a fight.
