Volleyball Recap: Westfield's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Westfield had already won six in a row and they went ahead and made it seven on Thursday. They blew past the Franklin Central Flashes 3-0. For the Shamrocks, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 victory the Flashes walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-14, 25-10, 25-17.

Westfield had a senior duo take command as Graham Weddige had five digs and three aces and Evan Huhn had 11 assists and four digs. Weddige is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 16 or more in each of the last seven games he's played. CJ Fox also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Despite the loss, Franklin Central still got an impressive performance from Anthony Suarez, who had seven assists and six digs.

Westfield's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-2. As for Franklin Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Westfield will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Carmel at 7:15 p.m. on the 15th. As for Franklin Central, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Herron on the 4th.
