Cartersville had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against the Cherokee Warriors by a score of 2-0. The Hurricanes were shut out 2-0 the last time they took on the Warriors, so the Hurricanes were just returning the favor.

Jada Zimmerman paced Cartersville's offense, picking up nine kills. Zimmerman got some help from Emma Wall and her 11 assists. Wall was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Cherokee's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coincidentally, Cartersville and Cherokee will both be playing Starr's Mill the next time they take the court. The Hurricanes will head out to face the Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Warriors will play them later in the day, at 7:30 p.m.
