Baseball Recap: Shelley Takes a Loss

Shelley extended their losing streak to 17 on Monday, dropping their season record down to 2-18 in the process. They came up short against the Blackfoot Broncos, falling 10-2. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Broncos this season, with their most recent loss being a 10-5 defeat last Friday.

Kael Remington was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

As for Blackfoot, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.1 runs on average over those games.

On Blackfoot's side, Jake Vance was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Jace Cooper was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Shelley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Blackfoot, they will head out on the road to face off against Skyline at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Broncos' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Grizzlies have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season.
