Basketball Game Preview: Battle Mountain Huskies vs. Vail Mountain Gore Rangers

The Battle Mountain Huskies will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on the Vail Mountain Gore Rangers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Battle Mountain is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.

If Battle Mountain beats Vail Mountain with 47 points on Tuesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. Battle Mountain enjoyed a cozy 47-32 win over Ascent Classical Academy Northern Colorado on Saturday. While the Huskies didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Vail Mountain). They took down Caprock Academy 44-27 on Saturday. The Gore Rangers pushed the score to 38-16 by the end of the third, a deficit the Eagles cut but never quite recovered from.

The victory made it two in a row for Vail Mountain and bumps their season record up to 2-6. As for Battle Mountain, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.
