The Lincoln-Way Central Knights will head out on the road to square off against the Fenwick Friars at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Lincoln-Way Central barely beat Bradley-Bourbonnais the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Knights never let the Boilermakers get on the board and left with an 8-0 win on Tuesday. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Boilermakers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Not much got past Lisabella Dimitrijevic, who gave up just three hits and racked up 21 Ks to keep Bradley-Bourbonnais off the board. Dimitrijevic has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Teagan Berkshire was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. Abigail Paczesny was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last matchup, Fenwick made sure to put some runs up on the board against Lincoln Park on Thursday. The Friars put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 10-0 win. Considering the Friars' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
The result came thanks to Gianna Pescatore's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up eight Ks.
On the hitting side, Sophia Leonardi was a standout: she went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Ellie Brady also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Fenwick was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in four consecutive games.
Lincoln-Way Central pushed their record up to 15-1 with the victory, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Fenwick, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Lincoln-Way Central has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 13 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Fenwick struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
