Basketball Game Preview: Frontier Falcons vs. Rossville Hornets

Frontier is 1-9 against Rossville since November of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Frontier Falcons will host the Rossville Hornets at 6:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Frontier is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their eighth straight game on Saturday. They took a hard 52-37 fall against DeMotte Christian.

Meanwhile, Rossville unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Monday. They took a 52-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Faith Christian.

Frontier will need focus on slowing down Ava Burkle, one of several Rossville players who made an impact when they last played. She dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 boards. Burkle is becoming a predictor of Rossville's success: when she posts at least eight rebounds the team is 8-1 (and 4-5 when she doesn't). Chloe Darnell was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 11 points and nine boards.

Even though they lost, Rossville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Rossville's defeat dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Frontier, their loss dropped their record down to 1-16.
