Football Recap: North Surry Greyhounds vs. Northwood Chargers
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North Surry). They claimed a resounding 42-15 win over the Northwood Chargers. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
North Surry was led to victory by Zamarri Sweatman and Cade Atkins. Sweatman rushed for 105 yards and three scores, while Atkins threw for 176 yards and a pair of TDs on only 12 passes. Sweatman's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 105 rushing yards.
Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 11 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Fisher Leftwich, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
Northwood's loss on Friday came despite strong showings from Grayson Cox and Finn Sullivan. Cox rushed for 54 yards and one touchdown, while Sullivan threw for 157 yards and one TD.
