Softball Recap: Clyde Comes Up Short

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Clyde couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Ingram Moore Warriors by a score of 4-3 on Saturday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-2 on Thursday.

Brynli Reynolds put in work while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 16 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 24 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one double, and one RBI. That triple was her first of the season.

Reynolds wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Belinda Sanchez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Clyde and nudges their season record down to 21-6. As for Ingram Moore, their win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-8-1.

As of now, neither Clyde nor the Warriors have any future games scheduled.
