Basketball Recap: Blue Valley Rams vs. Onaga Buffaloes

The Blue Valley Rams scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past Onaga, posting a 80-48 win on the road. The victory was familiar territory for Blue Valley who now have five in a row.

Onaga lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Konnor Nider, who scored 16 points along with two steals. Nider has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Jackson Kolterman was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven steals and five assists.

Even though they lost, Onaga were working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Blue Valley's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-7. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.5 points per game. As for Onaga, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.

Blue Valley will be playing at home against the Tigers on Tuesday. Washington County is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. As for Onaga, they will head out on the road to square off against the Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Doniphan West is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
