Volleyball Recap: Williamson Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Williamson lost against Wellsboro back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Warriors took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hornets. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Williamson started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-16, 25-10, 25-2.

Abby Gehman paced Williamson's offense, picking up seven kills. Gehman got some help from Raegan Vangorden and her 13 assists. Vangorden was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Leading Wellsboro to victory were Maddy Cruttenden and Taylor Main. Cruttenden had 17 digs and six aces, while Main had 18 assists and ten digs. Cruttenden has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last three times she's played. Ellie Largey was another key player, getting 13 assists and four digs.

Williamson's defeat dropped their record down to 17-6-4. As for Wellsboro, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 15-2.

Williamson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Northeast Bradford on the 16th. As for Wellsboro, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-2 loss against Troy on the 16th.
