Soccer Game Preview: Samueli Academy vs. Kennedy

The Samueli Academy Firewolves will face off against the Kennedy Fighting Irish at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. Samueli Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.9 goals per game this season.

On Thursday, Samueli Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over The Webb Schools, taking the game 3-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Firewolves.

They hit The Webb Schools with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Isaac Marquez, Izaiah De La Torre, and Isaac Barriga.

Meanwhile, Kennedy managed to keep up with Segerstrom until halftime on Wednesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Kennedy lost 3-0 to Segerstrom. One reason for the loss might be the Fighting Irish's aggressive play style: three Kennedy players were handed yellow cards.

Samueli Academy has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-5-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 25 goals over those six games. As for Kennedy, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-9.
