Basketball Recap: Southeast Raleigh Starts off Right with Win over Wakefield + How To Watch

Southeast Raleigh gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Wakefield Wolverines with a sharp 58-34 victory. For the Bulldogs, this counts as revenge for the 31-28 win the Wolverines walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2022.

A'Ziyah Trent was the offensive standout of the contest as she posted 14 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. Those eight rebounds gave her a new career-high. Dariyah Harris was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Wakefield's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nicole Amend, who put up 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddelyn Kusy, who scored four points and five boards.

Wakefield's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Southeast Raleigh will hit the road for the first time this season to take on Enloe at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wakefield, they will take on South Garner at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
