Basketball Recap: Spencer Takes a Loss

Spencer was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 61-56 heartbreaker at the hands of the Decorah-North Winneshiek Vikings. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 99th, while the Vikings are ranked 17th).

Spencer's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Decorah-North Winneshiek, their win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-0.

Spencer has already played their next game (against Estherville Lincoln Central), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Decorah-North Winneshiek will challenge Crestwood at 8:15 p.m. on Friday.
