Basketball Recap: Western Takes a Loss

After flying high against Hastings last Tuesday, Western came back down to earth. The Western Panthers took a 58-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Marshall Redhawks. The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Redhawks earlier this season, when they won 52-49.

Western has also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season. As for Marshall, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Western will host Mason at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Mason will roll in looking for their 14th straight victory, something Western surely won't give up without a fight. As for Marshall, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Northwest at 7:00 p.m.
