Football Recap: Hebron Christian Finds Playoff Glory Versus Prince Avenue Christian + How To Watch

Hebron Christian had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Prince Avenue Christian Wolverines 63-20. The Lions' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

It was another big night for Devon Caldwell, who rushed for 351 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 16.7 yards per carry. Those 351 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Jarvis Mathurin was another key player, picking up 118 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Hebron Christian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 455 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Another reason for the win was Hebron Christian's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for 5.5 sacks. Marley Woods was especially locked on to Prince Avenue Christian's QB and sacked him twice. Woods has been hot recently, having posted at least one sack the last three times he's played. Hebron Christian got some further help from Max Steve: he forced one fumble and made 19 total tackles.

Despite the loss, Prince Avenue Christian still got an impressive performance from Ben Musser, who rushed for 59 yards and one TD, and also threw for 183 yards and one touchdown.

The win was the eighth in a row for Hebron Christian, bringing their record up to 10-1. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 13.4 points on average over those games. As for Prince Avenue Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4.

Coming up, Hebron Christian will face off against Greater Atlanta Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lions will need to watch out since the Spartans have now posted at least 31 points in their last six matchups. Prince Avenue Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
