Football Recap: Bear River Finds Home Field Redemption Against Tooele

There's no place like home for Bear River, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 35-16 win over the Tooele Buffaloes on Friday. The Bears pushed the score to 35-7 by the end of the third, a deficit the Buffaloes cut but never quite recovered from.

Jaxson Theurer threw for 104 yards and one TD while completing 73.3% of his passes. Eli Braegger was his top target, picking up 88 receiving yards and one touchdown. On the ground, Rigdon Vonk rushed for 97 yards and a pair of scores.

Kami Vaenuku and Mavrik Chlarson certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Vaenuku gained 103 total yards and a touchdown, while Chlarson picked up 61 receiving yards and one score. Vaenuku also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, forcing one fumble and making four total tackles.

The victory snapped Bear River's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-4 record. As for Tooele, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 2-4.
