Baseball Game Preview: Stanwood Spartans vs. Snohomish Panthers

For the second straight game, Stanwood will face off against Snohomish. Stanwood will host Snohomish at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Stanwood will come into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.

Stanwood lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Snohomish, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Wednesday's game. Stanwood never let Snohomish get on the board and left with an 8-0 win on Wednesday. The Spartans' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last three contests.

The result came thanks to Tanner Requa's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up ten Ks. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Skyler McLain was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Corban Forslund, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Stanwood hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Snohomish struck out ten times.

Snohomish's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-2. As for Stanwood, their victory bumped their record up to 6-0.
