Soccer Recap: Highland Comes Up Short

Highland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Johnstown-Monroe Johnnies. That's two games in a row now that Highland have lost by just one goal.

Coleman Chamberlain and Christian Mason scored both of Highland's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 30 goals.

Highland's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Johnstown-Monroe, they now have a winning record of 8-7-1.

Coming up, Highland will challenge Pleasant at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Highland will be up against Pleasant's rather soft defense (which has allowed 2.87 goals per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Johnstown-Monroe, they will take on Northridge at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Northridge will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Johnstown-Monroe surely won't give up without a fight.
