Baseball Game Preview: Riverview Sarasota Rams vs. Hardee Wildcats

The Riverview Sarasota Rams will head out to challenge the Hardee Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Riverview Sarasota has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since the 5th.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Riverview Sarasota's offense. They lost 15-0 to Braden River on Tuesday. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Riverview Sarasota saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caden Sladek, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that Sladek snagged this season.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Hardee faced off against North Port on Friday. Hardee came out on top in a nail-biter against North Port, sneaking past 2-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

Hardee also got a great performance from Wyatt Beattie as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Beattie has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Ryland Beumel was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. Cody Rieder was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases.

Riverview Sarasota's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Hardee, their win bumped their record up to 7-8.

Riverview Sarasota was able to grind out a solid victory over Hardee in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, winning 6-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Riverview Sarasota since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
