The Ann Sobrato Bulldogs are taking a road trip to take on the Willow Glen Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Ann Sobrato lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Leland, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's matchup. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by a 14-2 margin over the Chargers on Tuesday. The Bulldogs not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 18th (when they won 13-1).

Sam Zimmerman made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Ann Sobrato got a big performance out of Julia Carlsen, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That's the most RBI Carlsen has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Angelina Bugg, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Ann Sobrato was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .613. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Willow Glen put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their undefeated season alive. They never let Westmont get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won nine games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Catalina Medina made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Medina was even better at the plate, going 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Haley Ocumen, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. Makenzie Leiker also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.
Willow Glen pushed their record up to 17-0-1 with the win, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Ann Sobrato, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Both Ann Sobrato and Willow Glen just can't seem to miss. The Bulldogs have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.1 hits per game. However, it's not like Willow Glen struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 2.9 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Ann Sobrato came up short against Willow Glen when the teams last played last Tuesday, falling 11-8. Can the Bulldogs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
