Baseball Recap: Solebury Comes Up Short

If Solebury was riding high fresh off their 18-7 takedown of Morrisville on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Spartans took a 13-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the South Hunterdon Eagles on Friday. The Spartans were not able to make up for their defeat to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in April of 2017.

Obie Taylor made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Solebury's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for South Hunterdon, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Solebury will square off against Pennington at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South Hunterdon, they will challenge Somerset Tech at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
