Baseball Recap: Parrish Community Takes Down Lakewood Ranch in a Playoff Battle

It's playoff time, and Parrish Community had no trouble coming through when it counted. They blew past the Lakewood Ranch Mustangs 8-2 on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Bulls in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won five in a row.

Daniel Norbeck spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up 11 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Tyler Cripe was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Tyler Brown was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Parrish Community was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .452. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in four consecutive contests.

Parrish Community's record is now 20-4. As for Lakewood Ranch, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-18.

Coming up, Parrish Community will square off against Palmetto at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lakewood Ranch does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
