Softball Recap: Harper Creek Wins Going Away Against Marshall

Harper Creek lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Marshall, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's matchup. The Beavers put the hurt on the Redhawks with a sharp 12-5 win on Thursday. The Beavers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by seven runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Kennedy Halverson, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. Saleh Wolever was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Harper Creek was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They are 8-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Harper Creek has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Marshall, their loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-5.

Harper Creek has already played their next match, a 9-8 win against Three Rivers on the 2nd. As for Marshall, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 15-0 victory against Hillsdale on the 2nd.
