Basketball Recap: SPIRE Academy Comes Up Short

SPIRE Academy played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 75-45 loss at the hands of the Archbishop Hoban Knights. The defeat continues a trend for the SPIRE in their matchups with the Knights: they've now lost three in a row.

Archbishop Hoban's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was John Johnson, who made all 7 shots he took to post 18 points. Another player making a difference was Kenny Scott, who went 6 for 11 en route to 13 points along with seven assists and three steals.

SPIRE Academy now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Archbishop Hoban, their win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-2.
