Soccer Game Preview: Highland vs. Hamilton

The Highland Hawks will face off against the Hamilton Huskies at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Hamilton will be up against a hot Highland squad: the team just extended their winning streak to ten. Highland blew past Catalina Foothills 4-1 on Tuesday. Given the Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona soccer rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Falcons are ranked 33rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Hamilton, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They never let Cactus Shadows onto the board and left with a 3-0 victory on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Huskies in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won three in a row.

Highland pushed their record up to 16-4 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those seven matchups. As for Hamilton, their win bumped their record up to 10-4-1.
