Basketball Recap: Father Capodanno Comes Up Short

Father Capodanno was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Asheboro Hybrid Academy Warriors, falling 69-24. The Grunts were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-15.

Despite the loss, Father Capodanno still got an impressive performance from Jefferson Frehley, who posted 20 points and four steals. Frehley continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played.

Leading Asheboro Hybrid Academy to victory were Levi Gaskins and Landon Hudson. Gaskins went 8 of 11 on his way to 18 points in addition to five boards and three steals, while Hudson dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. Gaskins' evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Seth Autry, who put up eight points and five rebounds.

Father Capodanno's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Asheboro Hybrid Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

Father Capodanno will challenge Asheboro Hybrid Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Asheboro Hybrid Academy, they will take on Union Grove Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Asheboro Hybrid Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.6 points per game this season.
