Softball Preview: Kenosha Tremper Trojans vs. Whitnall Falcons
The Kenosha Tremper Trojans will challenge the Whitnall Falcons at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Kenosha Tremper comes in on three and Whitnall on four.
Kenosha Tremper will bounce into Friday's match after beating Indian Trail, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Trojans walked away with a 6-3 win over the Hawks on Thursday. The game was the first time the Trojans have beaten the Hawks on their field since April 2, 2019.
Sophia Murphy was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. In other batting news, Camille Sporer was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Finley Koziol, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, while Whitnall put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Milwaukee Lutheran. The Falcons blew past the Red Knights 15-0.
Whitnall pushed their record up to 12-7 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Kenosha Tremper, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.
