Baseball Game Preview: Hilton Head Christian Academy Eagles vs. Savannah Country Day Hornets

The Hilton Head Christian Academy Eagles will take on the Savannah Country Day Hornets at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hilton Head Christian Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

Hilton Head Christian Academy gave up the first runs last Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against Southwest Florida Christian by a score of 17-13. The high-scoring effort was just what the Eagles needed considering they were shutout in their previous matchup.

Slaide Burd was incredible, firing off two home runs, eight RBI, and three runs while going 2-for-5. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Richardson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-6.

Hilton Head Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .553. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Savannah Country Day was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Screven County, falling 15-4. One positive for the Hornets, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Brooks Kleinpeter was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.

Savannah Country Day's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Hilton Head Christian Academy, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Hilton Head Christian Academy came up short against Savannah Country Day when the teams last played back in April of 2022, falling 5-1. Can Hilton Head Christian Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
