Softball Recap: Mathews Takes a Loss

Mathews was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 13-2 to the Essex Trojans. The Blue Devils were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Trojans earlier this season, when they won 23-11.

Mathews' loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Essex, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-5.

Coming up, Mathews will take on Northumberland at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Indians will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Blue Devils surely won't give up without a fight. As for Essex, they will face off against Rappahannock at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
