Central is a perfect 3-0 against Canyon Crest Academy since February of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Spartans will venture away from home to face off against the Ravens at 4:00 p.m. Central is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.
Central not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 23, 2024 (when they won 16-5). They were the clear victors by a 13-2 margin over San Ysidro.

Kaylani Torres was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.
In other batting news, Central got a big performance out of Thalisa Soto, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Kaylee Loya, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs.
Central hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Canyon Crest Academy came up short against San Dieguito Academy on Thursday, falling 18-3.
Canyon Crest Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kelly Stroot, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one run. Julia Piekarski was another, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Central's record is now 9-14. As for Canyon Crest Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-13-1 record this season.
Central was able to grind out a solid win over Canyon Crest Academy when the teams last played back in March of 2024, winning 8-4. Do the Spartans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Ravens turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
