Basketball Recap: Trinity Lutheran Comes Up Short

After soaring to 56 points the game before, Trinity Lutheran was a bit more limited in their match on Thursday. They were beaten by the Christian Academy Warriors 66-30. The loss continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now lost five in a row.

Despite the defeat, Trinity Lutheran had strong showings from Isaac Darlage, who posted eight points, and Bode Brooks, who scored six points and seven boards. The dominant performance gave Darlage a new career-high in points.

It was another big night for Joshua Renfro, who went 7-for-10 from beyond the arc on his way to 29 points and three steals for Christian Academy. Renfro is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last eight games he's played. Another player making a difference was Josh Chancey, who had eight points and 11 rebounds.

Trinity Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Christian Academy, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-7.

Trinity Lutheran wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 48-35 defeat against Indianapolis Lutheran on the 14th. As for Christian Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 74-40 victory against West Washington on the 14th.
