Basketball Recap: Example Academy National Extends Home Winning Streak to Five

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lift for Life Academy, Example Academy National was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They secured a 58-54 W over the SPIRE Academy SPIRE. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked tenth in Illinois, while the SPIRE are ranked 212th in Ohio), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Example Academy National's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-7. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.4 points per game. As for SPIRE Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.

Example Academy National will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on SPIRE Academy at 7:00 p.m. on February 7th. As for SPIRE Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 48-36 defeat against Example Academy on the 15th.
