Baseball Recap: Pickens Academy Comes Up Short

Pickens Academy managed to slip by South Lamar the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Pirates came up short against the Stallions on Friday, falling 10-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Pirates have suffered since April 3, 2024.

Pickens Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ace Gregory, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Aaron Kirk was another, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

Pickens Academy's loss dropped their record down to 14-11. As for South Lamar, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-10 record this season.

Pickens Academy will welcome Sulligent at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for South Lamar, they will head out to face off against Hubbertville at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
