Baseball Recap: Kennedy's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

Kennedy came into Tuesday's matchup having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against the McFarland Cougars by a score of 12-7 on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Thunderbirds also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Nathaniel Elizando and Joshua Gonzales did most of the damage at the plate: Elizando went 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI, while Gonzales went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Those four RBI gave Elizando a new career-high. Espn Cantu was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

Kennedy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .452. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Kennedy's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 5-8. As for McFarland, they dropped their record down to 3-5-1 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Cougars beat Kennedy by a score of 6-4 on Thursday.
