Football Game Preview: Shelbyville Rams vs. Tri-Valley Vikings

The Shelbyville Rams are taking a road trip to square off against the Tri-Valley Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Shelbyville is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.

Shelbyville had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 36-point drubbing they dealt Clinton on Friday. The Rams claimed a resounding 42-6 victory over the Maroons. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 29-0.

Meanwhile, Tri-Valley was able to grind out a solid win over Tremont on Friday, taking the game 21-13. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Vikings' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 188th, while the Turks are ranked 390th).

Tri-Valley's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Shelbyville, their win bumped their record up to an identical 5-2.

Shelbyville was dealt a bruising 52-13 loss at the hands of Tri-Valley in their previous meeting back in September of 2024. Can the Rams avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
