Basketball Recap: Christian Academy of Louisiana Takes a Loss

Christian Academy of Louisiana extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 1-7. They took a blow against Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool, falling 75-27. While losing is never fun, the Crusaders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 258th, while Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool are ranked 42nd).

Despite the loss, Christian Academy of Louisiana still got an impressive performance from Jaden Dorsey, who posted eight points and ten rebounds. Dorsey has been hot recently, having posted nine or more boards the last four times he's played.

As for Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-2. They have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 20 points or more this season.

Leading Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool to victory were Ethan Brown and Miles King. Brown shot 83% from the field en route to 23 points and four steals, while King went 10-for-13 on his way to 22 points and three steals. With that strong performance, King is now averaging an impressive 15.4 points per game. Another player making a difference was Josiah Taylor, who put up seven points along with nine rebounds and three steals.

Coincidentally, Christian Academy of Louisiana and Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool will both be playing Word of God Academy the next time they take the court. The Crusaders will head out to face the Force at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, while Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool will host them at 8:00 p.m. on January 2, 2026.
