Baseball Game Preview: Galt Warriors vs. Union Mine Diamondbacks

The Galt Warriors are taking a road trip to square off against the Union Mine Diamondbacks at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Galt hasn't scored more than a single run for four games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.

Galt came into their game last Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against El Dorado, falling 10-0.

Meanwhile, Union Mine never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They came out on top against Burbank by a score of 3-0.

Will Baumunk made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over 5.2 innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three). He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.

Baumunk wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ian Enders, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Union Mine has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-11 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Galt, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.
